Lab testing policy

What every kratom product page shows

  • Mitragynine in milligrams per serving and per package, and as a percentage of mass, from the report.
  • The 7-hydroxymitragynine result with the laboratory's limit of quantitation. A not-detected result is printed as "not detected (LOQ x ppm)", never as zero and never as a marketing phrase.
  • Any other alkaloid the report quantifies.
  • The laboratory's name and accreditation, the sample number, the report date, and whether the report carries a product lot number and a contaminant panel.
  • A link to the report at the laboratory's or brand's own URL. Reports are never rehosted when the laboratory forbids reproduction.

What every hemp product page shows

  • Each cannabinoid the report quantifies (CBD, CBG, CBN, CBDA, CBGA, delta-9 THC, THCA and others) as a percentage and, for finished goods, in milligrams per container.
  • Total THC, calculated as delta-9 THC plus 0.877 times THCA, in milligrams per innermost container, with the laboratory's limit of quantitation for THC.
  • The laboratory's name and accreditation, the batch or sample number, the test date, and whether a contaminant panel (residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, microbials, mycotoxins) is on the report.
  • A link to the report at the laboratory's, supplier's or brand's URL.
  • For CBN and CBC products, whether the supplier has attested in writing that the cannabinoid came from natural degradation rather than reagent conversion; until it has, the page carries a notice.

Why milligrams per container matter

From December 11, 2026 a hemp product may contain no more than 0.4 milligrams of total THC per innermost container under federal law (P.L. 119-37 section 781 as amended by P.L. 119-103 section 2019). A percentage alone cannot show compliance; the milligram figure can, and only when the laboratory's detection floor is low enough. Full-spectrum products without a report at that sensitivity carry a removal date of December 11, 2026. Read the 2026 federal hemp rule and how to read a COA.

What counts as a report

A report from a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for the method, with the sample identified, the analytes and their limits of quantitation stated, and the laboratory's name and accreditation number printed. A brand-level PDF with no sample number, a sheet with no lab name, a report marked for research and development only, or a screenshot does not count.

Pending reports

A product with no report on file may still be listed (owner decision), but its page shows "Lab report pending from the supplier" instead of figures and a link, and the admin dashboard shows the gap as a warning. No alkaloid or cannabinoid figure is ever typed in by hand from a brochure or a price sheet.

Bulk ingredients

Reports for bulk hemp ingredients are linked from the wholesale portal to approved business accounts only. Several are the original manufacturer's reports rather than the supplier's own lot; the portal says so, and current-lot reports issued to the supplier are required before a wholesale order ships.

What is still missing

The three Narcos X Tabs reports on file are alkaloid potency panels that carry no product lot number and no heavy-metal, microbial, pesticide or residual-solvent results, and every FLAME USA item has no report at all. On the hemp side, KureLeaf and Moon Ranger publish no usable report, several Slumber reports have a THC detection floor too coarse for the 0.4 mg cap, and the THCa flower reports are from 2024 with no package batch number. Lot-specific reports with a contaminant panel are required from every supplier before production orders ship. See docs/COA-STATUS.md and docs/TODO-MIKE.md.

Why the 7-hydroxymitragynine number matters

The federal notice of intent published 2026-10-14 proposes to control 7-hydroxymitragynine and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl when a product exceeds 1 mg per gram or 1 mg per milliliter, or when the mass of mitragynine divided by the mass of those compounds is less than 100 (91 FR 65370). Several states set tighter caps. A report that states the 7-hydroxymitragynine result and its limit of quantitation is what lets a product be judged against those lines; see how to read a kratom lab report.

Looking up a batch

Find the batch or sample number on the product label, open the product page, and follow the report link. The lab results index lists every posted report for a public product.
