Contaminant panel

Updated:

Definition

The part of a lab report that tests for what should not be present: heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury), a microbial panel, and for extracts residual solvents. Lead is the documented kratom concern; a 2020 Proposition 65 notice alleged lead in kratom powder. The reports linked here have no contaminant panel.

A contaminant panel covers heavy metals, microbes and, for extracts, residual solvents from processing. Sellers with full programs list identity, arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury and a microbial panel (Kraken Kratom). The documented concern for kratom is lead: a December 2020 notice under California's Proposition 65 alleged lead exposure from kratom powder sold as teas and capsules (California AG notice 2020-03325), and several large sellers print a lead warning for that reason.

The three reports linked from this store's lab-results pages are potency panels with no contaminant results. The lab-results pages say so, the admin dashboard shows the gap, and a lot-specific report with heavy metals and microbials for every product is on the owner's supplier list before production orders ship.
