Glossary
Potency panel
Updated:
The part of a kratom lab report that quantifies alkaloids: mitragynine and, on fuller panels, 7-hydroxymitragynine, paynantheine, speciogynine and speciociliatine, each in percent, mg per gram, mg per serving and mg per unit with LOD and LOQ. The reports linked here are potency panels only, with no contaminant results.
The potency panel is the alkaloid table. On the reports linked from this store it is labeled "KTM - Kratom" and lists mitragynine and speciociliatine, each in four units that are the same number expressed differently: percent and mg per gram for concentration, mg per serving (concentration times serving mass) and mg per unit (per serving times servings) (NarcoBrands COAs). A reader can check the arithmetic from any row: 82.81 mg/g times 0.69 g is 57.14 mg; times three servings is 171.42 mg.
Fuller panels quantify five alkaloids (Super Speciosa lab lookup), and a panel that names 7-hydroxymitragynine, pseudoindoxyl and the MGM compounds with their limits of quantitation is what the state and federal caps are judged against. A potency panel says nothing about heavy metals, microbes or solvents; those are the contaminant panel, which the reports linked here do not include.
