Milligrams per serving

Updated:

Definition

The amount of an alkaloid in one serving as the manufacturer defines it, computed as concentration times serving mass: 82.81 mg per gram times a 0.69 g tablet is 57.14 mg. The unit most state caps use (Georgia 150 mg mitragynine, 1 mg 7-OH; Virginia and Maryland 1 mg 7-OH) and the figure every product page here prints.

A serving is what the manufacturer prints on the package; for the extract tablets reported here it is one tablet of 0.69 to 0.73 g. Milligrams per serving is the concentration from the report multiplied by that mass: report SD260424-137 states 82.81 mg of mitragynine per gram and 57.14 mg per 0.69 g serving, with 171.42 mg across the three servings in the package (NarcoBrands COAs).

Most state caps are written in this unit. Georgia prohibits more than 150 mg of mitragynine or 1 mg of 7-hydroxymitragynine per serving (Georgia Department of Law); Virginia prohibits more than 1 mg of 7-hydroxymitragynine per serving (Va. Code § 59.1-200); Maryland reads its statute the same way. Because the figure depends on the serving the manufacturer defines, this store prints the manufacturer's directions where they exist and never defines a serving of its own.
