Kratom extract
Updated:
A product made by pulling the alkaloids out of Mitragyna speciosa leaf and concentrating them, sold as tablets, shots and tinctures. The extract tablets reported on this store hold 57 to 70 mg of mitragynine each, about 20 times a pressed leaf tablet. Ohio and Utah bar extracts while permitting leaf.
An extract concentrates the leaf's alkaloids into a smaller mass. The three extract tablet reports linked from this
store's lab-results pages show mitragynine at 8.28 to 9.85 percent of tablet mass, 57.14 to 69.93 mg per 0.69 to 0.73 g
tablet (NarcoBrands COAs); a pressed leaf tablet from another seller holds about 3 mg.
Extract reports are therefore read in milligrams per serving, and this store's regulatory class kratom_extract
covers tablets, shots and tinctures alike.
Two states draw their line at the format. Ohio's Board of Pharmacy rule schedules the "resinous extractives" of the plant and exempts leaf; Utah's 2026 statute says "kratom extracts or products made from extracts are not considered pure leaf kratom and cannot be sold" (Utah Attorney General). Not every product labeled extract is a leaf concentrate: a report showing 7-hydroxymitragynine in the tens of milligrams per gram with little mitragynine describes a converted product, not an extract of leaf.
