Mitragynine pseudoindoxyl
Updated:
A compound DEA placed in federal Schedule I at any concentration on 2026-08-26, together with MGM-15 and MGM-16, describing all three as produced through synthetic modification of purified isolates. Products marketed as pseudo or OPM tablets used it. Never carried by this store.
The temporary order published at 91 FR 54948 placed mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, with its isomers, esters, ethers and salts, in Schedule I effective 2026-08-26, codified at 21 CFR 1308.11(h), with no quantity threshold and an expiry of 2028-08-26 unless extended (91 FR 54948). Anyone without a Schedule I registration was required to surrender held quantities.
DEA's October 2026 notice proposes to move pseudoindoxyl into the same threshold-based rule as 7-hydroxymitragynine (1 mg per gram or milliliter, or a mitragynine ratio under 100), noting that new information suggested pseudoindoxyl "may also occur at trace levels in some kratom-derived products"; the August order stays in force until the new order publishes or the old one expires (91 FR 65370).
Products sold as "pseudo" tablets, syrups and shots after the 2025 actions against 7-OH used this compound. One of this store's suppliers lists a pseudoindoxyl syrup and two pseudoindoxyl shots; none is carried, and the regulatory class exists in the store's database only so it can be refused.
